Subscribe to OregonLive. The Walking Dead: Season 5, Episode 9. Well the gang was ready to kill off Abraham and Sasha when Daryl unveil his newest toy.
The missile launcher Abraham found the last episode. After collecting themselves the group hops back in the truck and makes their way to Alexandria not expecting what is to come.
Also continuing from the last episode we find the heros making their escape from the hoards of walkers that have over taken over Alexandria and taking a trick from Michonne to help them blend in with the walkers the group covers themselves in blood and begin their escape.
All was going fine as the group slowly walked until Sam began having doubts and feared being eaten alive. Unfortunately for him the fear was enough to make him cry and the walkers quickly noticed and pounced on him quickly.
His mother also began to cry and to was quickly devoured. Rick looked in horror as he watched his new found love being eaten before his eyes.
He came back in time to help free Carl from her grip but that was enough for Ron Sams brother who was already angry with carl and he pulled a gun.
Michonne tried to intervene but was too late. As in the comic Carl took a shot to his right eye. At the end of the episode there was hope he would survive.
At this point Rick is past his breaking point. After a few minutes Michonne and several other survivors join Rick and begins taking taking a stand to save their community.
The courage of the other survivors encourage two other characters who are usually cowardly and tend to stay away from the fighting.
Those of course being Gabriel and Eugene. The full group converges and begins slicing and dicing through several hundred maybe thousands of Walkers never letting up.
Glenn meanwhile attempts to save Maggie who is stuck on top of platform. While leading the walkers away all begins to look lost for Glenn who finds himself trapped against a wall.
At the least second Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha make their heroic entrance and Abraham shots down the Walkers surrounding Glenn.
Daryl comes up with a plan to save the town and unloads the fuel in the tanker into the lake and pulls out his new missile launcher and ignites the lake into a raging inferno.
The fire attracts the Walkers who begins to walk straight into the burning lake burning by the hundreds. At the end, the group has beat the Walkers and won their town back.
All together we believe this to be the best Walking Dead episode yet. It had all the Walkers we could handle and plenty of action from beginning to the end.
